A Closer Look...

the Hidden Grain on a 5’ Sideboard

Before:


Much like its matching large dish cupboard, this unusual sideboard, with it’s 5’ long drawer was quite worn with use and heavily shaded to make the differing wood grain all look alike.


The decision was made to expose the original grain and beautiful differing woods.

This photo on the left shows well the heavy shading that almost completely hid the wood grain underneath.

We stripped the finish, and the shading colours, to find beautiful wood grains and brought them to life with a soft lacquer which glows.
